| Our client: | Our client is a silicon carbide (SiC) based power semiconductor company with industry leading technology that can compete with silicon MOSFETs and IGBTs enabling substantially higher efficiency and more reliable solutions in a broad range of power applications such as: Solar Inverters, Computing and Network Power Supplies, UPS, Medical, Industrial and Electric Vehicles as well as for harsh-environment and hi-temp requirements in military and aerospace. The company has its own SiC epi and wafer fabrication capability located at its headquarters in the USA. The company is 10 years old, privately held and well funded with major investments from VC’s, a leading European Industrial multinational corporation and a major US semiconductor company. |
| Products, Company Objectives and Market Traction: | Our client offers commercially available and competitively priced SiC Schottky Barrier Diodes and Vertical Trench JFETs ranging from 5A to 50A and from 900V to 1700V. The company has an aggressive roadmap to expand its SiC range down to 600V and to higher power in order to cover the expanding requirements in the high growth green energy markets: Solar, EV, Wind. The company’s goal is to become the dominate supplier in SiC power and grow the business to over $100M in 5 years. The company entered the market in 2008 and has quickly gained a leadership reputation in the Solar market having strong ties with the Fraunhofer Institute and the leading producers of Solar Inverters in Germany. There are now active engagements with the majority of the Solar Inverter companies in Europe and around the world with numerous design wins moving into production. The company views the European market as pivotal to the future success of the company and expects to derive over 60% of its revenues from this geographic area over the next 3-5 years. |
| Job scope summary: | Director level manager responsible for the customer development, revenue objectives and sales organization build out in Europe which would include the middle east and Eastern Europe. Reporting to this person would be all independent stocking reps, distributors and a yet to defined direct sales organization and customer service. The company intends to open a EU headquarters office in Germany where an applications team, EU customer service and direct sales people would work out of or commute to. |
| Responsibilities: | - Achieve the customer traction expectations and revenue plan for the company in Europe. Be the primary deal closer in Europe
- Identify and attract top talent to support the plan of having a direct sales team to cover key/strategic customers and provide exceptional customer service as the headcount plan permits
- Build strong personal relationships with key customers (up and down the technical organization and purchasing) to the extent of having direct insight into their product roadmaps and the insertion of SiC as a key technology for their future
- Build and maintain a customer data base for opportunity and design win tracking and coordinate with reps and distributors. Work with USA to facilitate a CRM/DW tracking software
- Provide regular (weekly and monthly) reporting that would include competitive/market information and insight for use in strategic and product planning
- Support Marketing communications activities, PR, advertising, product launches and facilitate attendance at key conferences in Europe (PCIM)
- Track closed design wins and provide regular customer and product demand forecasts as requested by the factory. Identify and anticipate technical/commercial/quality issues at an early stage for fast resolution.

| Skills/Qualification: | - Sound understanding of power electronics and power semi’s
- Experience managing pan-European sales teams
- Excellent communication skills (internal and external)
- Strong negotiation, problem solving and deal closing skills
- Know how to build and maintain effective working relationships
- Ability to make convincing commercial and technical presentations at customers
- High level of customer orientation
- Senior stature able to share company corporate vision, mission and policy
- Work with high energy, self responsibility and determination
- Cost consciousness.
- Must be willing and able to travel extensively within the responsible territory and periodic visits to the factory in USA
- Fluent in English and German (both spoken and written)

| Experience/Education: | - Engineering degree is a must – BSEE preferred
- 10 years of sales and marketing experience in semiconductors or components including 5 years directly managing technical sales/ application teams in Germany and/or Europe preferred.

| Compensation: | Depending on qualification an industry competitive base salary plus a highly incentiveized bonus plan focused on achieving design win and revenue objectives. |
